FAQs

Have a question? We’ve got answers.

Is it really free?

Yes! We believe in the important of offering accessible editing resources to scientists at all levels. In exchange for the high quality services we offer, our editors receive career development opportunities and the ability to improve their own writing skills.

Who edits for ReVision?

The ReVision editing team is open to all JHU graduate students and postdocs with experience and an interest in scientific communication. You can learn more about our editors here. If you are interested in joining the team, send us an email!

How will my manuscript be kept safe?

All editors are bound by a confidentiality agreement. Your document will be maintained on the secure JH OneDrive and deleted three months after submission.

What can I submit to ReVision?

You can submit almost anything. We accept manuscripts, grant applications, abstracts, literature reviews, personal statements, book chapters, and more. We do not edit any materials that will be graded, plagiarized documents, or submissions from researchers outside of JHU.

How long does it take to get edits back?

We ask that you give us two weeks from the time of editor assignment to your internal deadline. We are willing to work on shorter deadlines, but may reject a submission if the timeline is unrealistic. Keep in mind that your editors are busy trainees providing this service for free. Please respect their time!
